"I think there will be a lot of people": a first motorcycle show organized by women in Dordogne

The Motardes 24 association team is inviting fans of beautiful two-wheeled vehicles to come together from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 May at the exhibition centre in Marsac-sur-l'Isle.
It 's going to be a roaring moment at the Marsac-sur-l'Isle exhibition center (Dordogne). From Friday, May 23rd to Sunday, May 25th, the first-ever motorcycle show organized by women will take place there. All of them are part of a young association, founded less than three years ago: Motardes 24.
The structure, chaired by Mickaëla Chamlong, brings together female motorbike enthusiasts who wanted to go on "quiet rides" on a motorcycle, in groups, "without pressure." "In the past, when we mixed with other groups, we had to roll the throttle fully," says Alexa Dulapt, the secretary of Motardes 24. This original female core, fans of two-wheelers, but not speed, gave its name to the association. "That doesn't mean we're closed to men, not at all," emphasizes Sophie Charbonnier, a member of the happy band who is only too happy to welcome new members (1).
"That doesn't mean we're closed to men, not at all."
This Motorcycle Show is the first major event organized by Motardes 24. "I think there will be a lot of people," says Brigitte Plaisance, who will be part of the volunteer staff at the exhibition center and who is counting on the "numerous contacts" made by the association for this upcoming weekend full of events (read below).
The program includes numerous stunt demonstrations, a motorsport discipline that involves riding on the front or rear wheel while performing acrobatic tricks. These demonstrations will be performed by a male-female duo, co-led by Florian Bugs, whose reputation has already earned him the title of opening rider at a Moto GP and the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans.
For good causes"There will also be the only professional funeral motorcyclist in France, who will come from Alsace," adds Sophie Charbonnier. A consignment sale of motorcycles and accessories will also be offered for the duration of the show: participants will have to pay 10 euros and reserve their space in advance (2).
Beyond the pleasure of spending a weekend sharing their passion, the organizers of this Motorcycle Show, who like to "put [their] energy at the service of others", hope that its proceeds will finance their solidarity actions aimed at women and children in vulnerable situations.
Practical. Admission: 7 euros; free for children under 14. More information on the Motardes 24 association's Facebook page.
